I earned my Ph.D. from the Department of History at the University of Delaware. I specialize in 19th & 20th century Latin American history, the history of Western and non-Western medicine, and Deaf Studies. I also hold an M.A. from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University where I studied the complex relationship between individual, community, and national memory and memoir in France following the Second World War.
I regularly review academic titles on Latin American history, the history of medicine, as well as the history of the Deaf community and culture. I have also contributed to numerous publications on these topics, some of which can be found on this site.
